Our state is a little extra anal on full auto’s. Actually anything under NFA you need a class 3 ffl to possess, not just the $200 tax stamp required in more normal states. However having a semi-aute version is not a problem. Jay’s usually have a fair number of AR-15’s on hand, and every so often they’ll have a semi-auto tommy behind the counter. However their prices tend to be high on most things. My general rule is look there due to the selection, then buy from one of the little guys due to price. Just looked at my gun show calendar and for fairly close there’s one in Cadillac this weekend, and Lansing is in 2 weeks, and Birch Run last weekend of November. There is one dealer from downstate at all of these shows that does have the tommy guns however their prices are about 20% higher than everyone else’s and they will not negotiate at all, for an AR you might have some luck though

You can not order these online…..
You need a tax stamp and ATF ck and they are around 10-20,000.00 to start. Or did you mean the sporting semi auto versions that look like them? Is so look at impact guns and have them sent to a FFL.

1 Buying full auto capable weapons involves a lot of extra paperwork and fees. In addition, due to an artificially created limited supply, the available guns go for about $10,000 at the lowest.
# 2 A firearm transaction can be between two average people who are both residents of the same state who meet ‘face to face’ and conduct their business, or else it must go through a federally licensed firearm dealer. So you can buy a gun online, but it must be sent to a local gun store. That local gun store is going to run you through all the state and federal requirements before transferring the gun to you
OK u need a class 3 license and nothing short of 10 Gs to own an M16.
Now the Tommy gun, depends on when it was made (anything before 1986 I believe is ok to be full auto) now I know semi auto versions are available online.
First off, if you’re looking for a "Full Auto" capable firearm you’re going to need to invest much more time and money compared to purchasing a semi-auto firearm.
As some have mentioned you will need to purchase a Federal Tax stamp ($500), receive approval from the local Sheriff, and sign away your privacy rights so the ATF could ask to see your firearm whenever they choose. (Yes, they can knock at your door at 2am and enter your home for just the fact that they may want to check it out)
Now comes the price. If money is not option then you’re in luck, because you can purchase just about anything short of a bazooka. An MP5, M-16, and/or any other similar firearm is going to run you a starting price of 10 thousand dollars. Also, remember that full auto will eat ammo; and ammo isn’t cheap.
Lastly, look at practicality; what are you going to use it for?
As a collector piece, sure you can buy one; but if you want something for going out once in a while to shoot for fun or to use for hunting you’re much better off buying a semi-auto and/or bolt action. If you’re going to war, well, they don’t make full auto M-16’s for the military now. They are selective fire, semi and 3-shot burst. Fully auto was deemed inaccurate and a waste of ammo. (On a personal side note, I’d stay away from the AK-47, even though its popular in tv culture, its sub-par compared to anything else available)
You have to contact a Class III dealer. You can purchase them on line, but the weapon(s) will need to be sent to the Class III dealer that you choose.
You have to physically go to his shop, fill out and pay him for the paper work. You must contact the Class III dealer BEFORE YOU BUY!. Most Class III dealers will want you to pay them first and then have them order the weapon for you.
Just type in Class III dealer in just about any search engine and you will find a dealer on the net. You can also go to your local gun shop and ask them for the nearest Class III dealer.
GunBroker has a full auto M16 and a 45 Thompson up for sale right now. Links below.
go to the Bowers list for reputable class III dealers.
well you need to jump threw a LOT of hoops like extensive back ground checks and all that jazz. if the ATF gives you the go ahead you need to pay the ATF 200 dollars for a tax stamp for it and then pay around 18,000 for a functioning full auto M16 and maybe 25,000+ for a functioning Thompson full auto. if that’s a little past your budget you could consider a semi auto AR-15 style rifle for around 1,000 dollars and a semi auto thompson for around 2,000 dollars and just walk in and buy it like a regular rifle.
