Hi there...
I have a Point Blank interceptor base vest, and it is pretty well worn out now. I use it for my armored truck guard job, and i want to get a new base cover, in black. Anyone know where to buy one of these covers? i need it black, and it would be nice if it was the same model i have, so my soft and hard plates still fit... i dont want new soft/hard plates, just the base vest in black... Thanks in advance for your answers!
Semper Fi!
O.K. let me bring you up to speed on this situation. 2 Weeks ago i ask a "Crazy or Not" question, and got a lot of response. And i sat down with my guy friend and we had a long-long talk after. And i though the matter would be over and done right? You see he was robbed at gun point 4 1/2 weeks ago, and gotten a real rush from it. A rush so big he bought an "BULLETPROOF VEST". Now i'm scared he will do something real-real stupid. And i just find a recipt for a gun in his apartment. What should i do?
P.S. Crazy Or Not #2
This has gotten too sreious and way out of hand.
A lot of us here in the hunting section have talked about home defense here. Would it be wise for me to save some money and buy a modern military surplus body armor vest with ceramic trauma plates? Think about it, I will be defending my home. But what if the intruder guy shoots me before I shoot him? Well, at least I will have body armor and he won't...before I pepper him with 00 buckshot.
Please suggest REALLY cheap guns that are not like pro stuff but still good and reliable. I saw that armor is pretty cheap on Pev's Paintball, like 50 bucks for like a whole body armor vest should i like get that?
Ok i'm not really gang affiliated, but I do hang out with a lot of gang members. I was walking down the street last saturday by myself and I was shot at, The driver was shooting, both backseat passengers were shooting, and the front passenger was shooting. The must have fired about 20 bullets or so. Not a single one hit me. Should I get bulletproof vest?
I know many websites have them, all I've seen on sites are around 0 which seems pretty steep for a vest. I've seen some on ebay for around but they look horrible and theres only one person selling them and they are all the same kind/style. Anyone know of a site that sellls cool ones for a decent price?
I mean how does the fiber stop a bullet? Does it have special properties? Is it woven a certain way? Is it a special kind of material? Also, how large of a bullet could a military issue vest stop?
I am working in a dangerous part of Oakland and I want a vest that's not too bulky but that can stop the most common rounds in use. Any suggestions?
I know that Carbon Fibre is sometimes used to bulletproof things and i was just wondering how thick it has to be to stop a bullet.
I am doing research on how thick it has to be not necessarily for a vest as much as for a vehicle since it is lighter than metal. also i know that Kevlar is used to bulletproof but i know it takes 15 layers of Kevlar fabric to bulletproof so if it takes less layers of carbon fiber to make something bullet proof it would be cheaper. so i was wondering if anyone could tell me how thick it carbon fiber has to be to bullet proof to the level of a bulletproof car.
i am a new rider and am interested in uping my saftey by getting some body armor. i was thinking about getting the Icon Field Armor Vest Chest Protector, it seems to offer a lot of pretection as well as being very affordable! would i wear this outside my textile jacket or inside? also, can you recommend any other armor that is reasonably priced with good protection? thanks.
I understand how bulletproof vests' intricately woven fibers stop bullets and spread the blunt-force trauma caused by stopping a powerful projectile over a wider area. Does it also protect against blunt force strikes in a similar manner, spreading the impact over a wider area?
So, in greater detail, would a 3.5 mm level II-A vest provide much vital organ protection in a car accident?
1/3 of a kilometer away?
i think there are 6 sheets of kevlar in this, this will stop most handgun rounds, im thinking about getting another one and layering that one over this one, how many will i have to buy for it to stop an M16?
yeah i know it will be sort of heavy.
yeah, where the hell am i going to get Dragon skin-or even intercepter armor, they wont sell anything like that to me,+ im sure that costs more than i have.
im lucky enough to know people who can get me old kevlar-only german made though, well thanks anyways, if you know where i can get that new armor for under 0 than please fell free to let me know, i would love to have that,- those other vest cost me - good deal isnt it?
i dont know what level of protection it brings, but it stoped a .45 from my tests, and the germans say it will stop all normal handgun rounds-normal ones not modified ones or high velocity guns like a .357mag.
I do not have 50 dollars to go and spend on a vest for paintball nor the time. I am trying to make a body armor. I took and old shirt and taped a lot of cardboard onto it. That didnt work. any ideas would be much appreaciated.
