I would like an AR-15 (m4 style) rifle. Should I buy one now? I am not sure if the prices will ever fall back down to reasonable rates, or if they will just continue to skyrocket.

I have a basic M4 flat top and I want to get either a vltor stock or a troy freefloat handguard, which one should i buy first?

well i bearly got an FOID (took long enough from november 2008 till febuary 5th) tehy sent me an FOID because i live in ILLINOIS and since i have a clean record and all and i havent done anything bad it said i have the right to purchase fire arms WOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

so my dad he has one to and he bought a kimber 45. colt and all and he has like 24 guns hes 54 and thats his hobby now going to the shooting range same with my mom....

Im planning on buying a t68 magazine fed M4 style marker from RAP4.com.. so one of the 8 or so options for the marker is that you can add tactical sling. I am now seeing that you can get it for most guns now.

What is the cheapest possible configuration for a California-legal AR-15? I'm looking for a AR-15 or M4 clone and I noted that the state of CA is very picky on their assault weapons. I was wondering if anyone had a list of the cheapest parts (e.g. receivers, pistol grips, bullet box, etc.) that are at its cheapest price. I'm looking for a CA-legal AR-15 under 00 if possible, unless there is a pre-made AR-15 that a company built exclusively for California.

The M16 has been in service for 40 years. And the M4 isn't much different, it's just shorter and can fire full auto (basically an M16 for urban combat). What are some of the possible replacements we might be seeing in the nearby future?

I'm 18 right now and I eventually plan to join some branch of the military at some point in time. Just about everyone in my family has served and it's something that I want to do as well. I'm 18 now and I think the cut-off limit is 30 so I have until then which is 12 years. I dont know but for some reason when I join I want things to be different, instead of using the same weapon my dad used over 30 years ago. I always here and see all these concepts of what our military will be equiped with in like the year 2015 and so on but it's 2007 now and I don't see anybody with vizors coming over there face giving them an HUD of all there surroundings and there squad. Also how much longer are we going to use the M16/M4 weapons?? I know they are excellent weapons but we have used them for a long as hell time right now. When are we going to switch over to a gun like the SCAR Assault rifle or the HK416? Anytime in the next 12 years maybe? I would be a hell of alot more excited to sign up if so.
Hah yes I know that is a quite absurd reason not to join. I think I'm going to spend about the next 8 years getting in the best shape possible and then join up when I'm about 26. I went to military school 8th through the 10th grade so I have shot civillian grade M16's so I kind of have somewhat of a feel for the actual weapon. I want to eventually try out for the special forces in my army career. I know what it's like to go through hell. We had an "elite" cadet program that was extremely rigorous and I learned alot through that. It's all really just in your head. I hate to imagine what Special Forces training is like but atleast I have had a taste of what "hell training" is like. I think by the time I'm 26 If I'm in good shape I will be alot more mentally prepared for something like that. That way I can get a hand on something besides the damned M16. Does anyone have exact numbers on how many decibels does the M16/M4 or even M249 produce?

It has to be a systema version and the m4 clips also fit the m16 but i want standard not midcap(120 rounds). I want like 30-40 bb's in each clip.

What is the ratio of machine guns like the M249 and M240 compared to assault rifles like the M16/M4?

Is it true that there is 1 M249 for every 3-5 infantry men? What about the M240 GPMG? How common are those?
