A lot of us here in the hunting section have talked about home defense here. Would it be wise for me to save some money and buy a modern military surplus body armor vest with ceramic trauma plates? Think about it, I will be defending my home. But what if the intruder guy shoots me before I shoot him? Well, at least I will have body armor and he won't...before I pepper him with 00 buckshot.
um...what does the body armor do to you in GTA IV? if you buy body armor from gunstores or lil jacob or if you find it and collect it does it restore your amor?
what do the diffrent threat levels mean when buying body armor? II, IIA and so on...
Please suggest REALLY cheap guns that are not like pro stuff but still good and reliable. I saw that armor is pretty cheap on Pev's Paintball, like 50 bucks for like a whole body armor vest should i like get that?
Im deploying to Afganistan in April and the issue flaks arent worth crap, and I know the Dragon Skin is the top of the line armor.
well mr bout apparently you have never spent any time in the military because even though it is not a flak jacket the body armor we are issued is "refered" to as THE "FLAK"
What exactly does "support the troops" mean?

Can a citizen buy body armor in California?
and Colorado?
I've heard some states have banned it, and California is really liberal, so i'm not sure.
Colorado i think you can, but again, not sure.
And can it just be bought online?
And finally, if yes, is there a limit to what class armor u can buy in either of them? (Class I, IIA, II, IIIA, III, IV)
I saw body armor on line for sale and its real but can just any person go and buy it or do they have to be in the army?
Um, mainly how do I buy body armor? im currently at the pt where I am in bohan, after Roman's apartment gets burned..
um cool, yeah i don't want to cheat... but 500$?? wow that's kinda expensive.. can i get it off of like little jacob or somewhere else easier?
What would you think if you saw a guy walking around wearing a full suit of bullet proof body armor, with head gear and all?
Were there ever any rules for batters to not wear body armor at the plate?
What is the average price for this type of body armor? Are there any special taxes that have to be paid?
I didn't say I needed it. I was just curious because some of my friends were talking about it.
.47? That seems awfully cheap for a bulletproof vest. What website is selling it for that price?
Ok, but how much would a new one cost?
Does anyone know the most powerful round that can be stopped by the most advanced body armor currently available?
What's the world coming to when users on yahoo answers think terrorists are asking what kind of rounds top of the line body armor can stop. Paranoid much? I can make you a tinfoil hat for only .99, but you have to pay for the shipping. Do we have a deal?
I teach in a NYC PUBLIC SCHOOL
As you know, there has been a school shooting every other week this month (including the Amish schoolhouse and the one's in Canada).
I've decided, I'm not going to get caught out there.
what is a good body armor and pistol combination that I can buy?
I need body armor that's light and can stand up to both knife attacks and at least 9mm rounds.
I also need a good suggestion for a small concealable pistol - probably in 9mm or .45 cal - something that has enough stopping power to put a 175 pound student out of commission.
Is there a body armor type that won't show through a typical collarless shirt?
I have always been wondering why many soldiers dont wear the upper arm deltoid protector along with their body armor. Shouldnt they wear it incase they get shot in the arm or something?
It may not be affordable to give it to every troop, but do you think that some day our special ops units like the Navy SEALs will get highly advanced body armor? I'm thinking a heavy armor suit with a full helmet to cover the head with an advanced Heads Up Display with battle data?
I think such armor given to an already elite force would make them damn near invincible.
At this point in time, does the military provide Title IV body armor? Or are they still sending people into combat zones without it?
How good is "interceptor" body armor? Are they those Vietnam era flak jackets?
Simple as could be, those long roll, unflavored and unbasted rawhide chews for dogs. Do you think it would make a suitable material as under-shirt body armor?
The only thing I would foresee trouble with is the stitching the rawhides together while they are still soft, and the rough texture they will have when dried.
But still, would it be useful as a light body armor?
I'm just asking out of curiousity by the way, I'm way too lazy to actually take the work to make it.
I'm not looking to make a bulletproof vest, I'm just amusing myself this late at night with just being curious. if ever I use it I know the most I would take it to would be a small folder knife.
Still, an interesting idea but sort of weird too, right? I'm just wanting to know if other people will think it will work also. I can see it working against small folding knives, like I said, but this is just a brain scratcher kind of question.
Do you think that's why our troops don't have body armor, because the wrong people would profit from making it?
i am a new rider and am interested in uping my saftey by getting some body armor. i was thinking about getting the Icon Field Armor Vest Chest Protector, it seems to offer a lot of pretection as well as being very affordable! would i wear this outside my textile jacket or inside? also, can you recommend any other armor that is reasonably priced with good protection? thanks.
I've been looking for a while on how to make a close to perfect replica of Master Chief's armor from Halo 2. I haven't had any luck of locating what materials are needed or any tutorials. If you know what materials and a step by step process of how to make a Master Chief body armor... or a website that gives you a list of materials plus a tutorial of what needs to be done plz post it!!
I live in California. And due to my recent security concerns i plan on purchasing a bulletproof vest. The one i am interested in is level IIIA. I wouldnt wear it casually, however on ocassion i would wear it to public places
If searched and bulletproof vest was found, how long would i be facing?
would it set off any metal detectors?
and does body armor level matter?
I have seen this in the news twice now, in just the last week. Two separate incidences where somene was arrested because of wearing body armor. I can understand weapons, but I can't comprehend why it is illegal for a felon to posess or wear body armor. Can someone explain the origin of this federal law? Why it exists? It seems like, once a convicted felon, mended ways or not, they are no longer allowed to protect themselves. I just want to know.
