I graduated a Police Academy and I am Currently State certified in Florida as a Law Enforcement Officer. I am not currently on with any agency. I am turning 21 in 2 weeks, do I have to get my concealed weapons permit if I graduated a Police Academy and I am State Certified? If so thats crazy because I obviously know what i'm doing. Any help?
Well I appreciate all of the answers. And to those who have a "shoebox of certifications" that just says you're one of those people who's career in life is attending school and getting every certification possible.I had a woman in my class who was 52 and certified in everything possible and she hasn't even tried police work, she wants to be an EMT now at 52 years old... I know agencies have policies about carrying off duty, but since I am not with one, I travel a lot and would like the protection. My academy was excellent and as far as my question, I agree that it would be necessary to take the course, and I have no problem with it but its a simple question with simple answers and I couldn't even find a gun shop/range whatever that could give me a clear answer.Police work is all about learning, you get on the street and life is totally different. I really appreciate every ones help! Thanks!
1 more thing...my question isn't do I need a permit to carry a concealed weapon..I ALREADY KNOW THAT! My question was, do I actually have to take the class, not the required things like a background check..
Thanks again
I am not a current firearms owner and plan to purchase a pistol at a gun show. Isnt there a waiting period and a background check? Can i go in with I.D. and walk out with one?
I want a semi-auto AR-15 that fires 5.56 rounds, can you buy one at a gun show? Is there a background check, or does all of this depend on state?
i am just trying to find somewhere online that i can by a handgun without all of the waiting and background check.
likethe question states found a russian sks for 599 but if i bought it i would still have to pay tax and 25 dollers for the background check. is this to much?
i was at the gun show yesterday and i bought a AK-47 and they had to do a background check they told me to pick it up when there finished how long does it take for them to finish i have no felonies
I just need to buy shotgun shells but not a shotgun. Will the guy run a background check just for ammunition?
I'm 20 with a clean record. I was asking because it's my first time buying ammunition alone for my shotgun and wanted to avoid hassle.
I guarantee I'm way less scary with a gun than you inbred hicks are.
I am a legal resident/citizen/drivers license in Texas, but currently live in Michigan. I understand that under Federal law you can only purchase a handgun in your state?
How do I buy a handgun while I am here? Can I ORDER from Texas and have them do the background check here? These laws are impossible to understand.
