Do you need a concealed weapons permit to carry a knife?
I want to carry something for protection, but i think that a gun isn't right for me. I want something with a little more control, so I want a knife. But do I need a concealed weapons permit to carry one? I mean like an 8 inch combat knife

Don’t ever carry a weapon unless you would be able to kill another person with the weapon. Otherwise, the criminal will take it away and use it on you. Same applies for a gun.

different states allow different lengths of knives… so check with your state
There are different laws for each state and each city or town can even regulate further.
Some like Illinois make the blade length less than 3 inches where some go as far a 6 inches with no permit, some don’t even allow over a certain length even with a permit.
You need to check your state laws and your local ordinances for the regulations
In MOST states, the max. legal length of a knife BLADE, is 5" !( In public ) !
