I have a knife, about a four inch blade, that I am keeping on me and my dad says I do not need a concealed weapons permit for it, but I am just double checking... anyone know?

I know what the division of licensing says, up to 90 days. But I'm curious how long it takes once your check clears. I sent in my application just about 3 weeks ago, along with a check for the license fees. The check just cleared, which would make me think the license is on its way. If anyone has a CCW Permit in Florida, let me know your experience with the time lines.

I just got my concealed weapons permit for use here in Oregon, but I forgot to ask the sheriff the specifics about it.

Where can I can and cannot take it?

If a person wanted to travel the Country, selling pocket knives (no blade over 21/2"), would they need some kind of a permit?

With the way that things are today, I could really see some traveling Knife Salesman going to jail for Carrying a Concealed Weapon.

I know that carrying them on airplanes is definatly out but what about just walking down the street with them in a roll case. The person has a valid business license (from home area), business cards and sample knives.

I know that most Policemen would let this pass but there is always one in the crowd.

My question? What can this person do, to stay within the law and out of trouble?

There is no such thing as a Concealed Weapons Permit that is good for every State and small town in America.

If anything, I would like to hear some thoughts about this subject from the policemen out there. The person has a clean record except for DUI's and small stuff, no felonies.

Is there a certain length that a knife blade has to be before it is considered a concealed weapon?

Are knives allowd inside of bars and taverns? From a "Legal Point" of view?

I know that this would be a stupid thing to do. I just wanted to know about the legal side of this?

You need to know this before you all jump on me....these knives are more tools than knives. These are the folding pliers that has the different tools inside of it. There is a knife blade on the tool so I would still consider it a knife.

I go to school in Southern California and was wondering if people with a concealed weapon permit can carry a gun (or other concealed weapon) on campus. I'm not even from Cali and don't have a permit but was wondering if other students at my school would be allowed to carry a gun on campus.

I graduated a Police Academy and I am Currently State certified in Florida as a Law Enforcement Officer. I am not currently on with any agency. I am turning 21 in 2 weeks, do I have to get my concealed weapons permit if I graduated a Police Academy and I am State Certified? If so thats crazy because I obviously know what i'm doing. Any help?
Well I appreciate all of the answers. And to those who have a "shoebox of certifications" that just says you're one of those people who's career in life is attending school and getting every certification possible.I had a woman in my class who was 52 and certified in everything possible and she hasn't even tried police work, she wants to be an EMT now at 52 years old... I know agencies have policies about carrying off duty, but since I am not with one, I travel a lot and would like the protection. My academy was excellent and as far as my question, I agree that it would be necessary to take the course, and I have no problem with it but its a simple question with simple answers and I couldn't even find a gun shop/range whatever that could give me a clear answer.Police work is all about learning, you get on the street and life is totally different. I have had a concealed weapons permit in Georgia and in Colorado. Neither was too difficult to obtain. Does anyone know how hard, or what I will have to go through to get one in PA - specifically Philly?

I am 20 and I'm about to turn 21 here in a month and my friend told me he went online and took a test and got his concealed weapons permit by taking a 20 question test.
