Can I buy a handgun in South Carolina with an out of state drivers license?
I have a VT drivers license as I am still technically a citizen of that state, but spend a good amount of time in SC. Would it be legal for me to buy a handgun in South Carolina with my VT license as my ID? If not a handgun, what about rifles/shotguns?

Federal law requires that all handgun sales take place within the state. Any transactions to a person from another state will require a dealer to dealer transfer. The buyer then must receive it from the dealer in his/her home state, and that dealer will process it like a normal sale (including the NICS background check).
Or you could move to SC and change your license over to a SC license. Once you have residency, then you may purchase in the state.
No
You can buy a gun anyplace in the south with any kind of picture I.D. In SC they don’t even do a criminal background check.
No Patricia
Federal law says that you can not buy a handgun in any place other than your home state,
Unless you are in the military this will be the state that issued you the ID you are going to have to show to purchase
This includes private sales
Federal law also mandates a background check on all FFL transfers
Nope…Unless you are in the military..You could buy a shotgun, or a rifle..
