		<description>In reality, almost everything the military buys, the civilian populous can buy also. (Of course not jets, tanks etc.) I recently moved to TN and just found out I can buy fully automatic weapons and silencers too. 
That does not mean that you can buy these things direct; you may have to buy them through a dealer.</description>

		<description>I am going to GUESS that like many other Police/Military gear civilians can buy the &#34;light&#34; stuff.

I recall many years ago one of the techs in a class I was teaching said he got a friend with a CA Guard Card to buy one for him. I did just look and it appears they can be purchased. You may find that you can get the &#34;Small Arms&#34; protection, not the plates that will stop rifle shots of .30 and larger. The stuff is not cheap. I just looked at one site selling a BR motorcycle jacket for $800 while another ad aimed at police was selling vests for $1500.00

I also found a PDF with MN law stating that committing a crime while wearing armor will add to your misery. I will GUESS that others states have similar laws.</description>
